“Unit 1 can potentially sleep 6 people. We had an adult couple & 3 teens & it was a little small for sleeping, but it was adequate. The bed in the loft can possibly sleep 2 people, if they are children. The loft also gets a little warm compared to the lower part of the cabin. We used the cabin only for sleeping, changing, bathroom. We did not cook there but the cabin has enough utensils, etc for having meals. Refrigerator/freezer was adequate. Love the location - access to Little Crooked lake, a very short walk to Driftwood & Round Lake. This is the 2nd time staying at this location - last year, we were in Unit 5 with 6 people - that was plenty of room with 3 bedrooms.”

“Overall a fine stay for our anniversary / baby moon trip. The king size bed was uncomfortable, however everything was very clean on the inside. The walk to water is near but it is not a beach by any means. It is a patch of grass in between two properties - which isn’t the hosts fault at all. Just something to note if you’re hoping for more of a beach feel. Close enough to drive to Saint Joe’s Michigan and other Michigan places. Overall we had a great weekend.”

“We had an absolute blast during our stay! There’s so much to do! It’s right in the middle of a cozy lakeside town and the locals were all so friendly and helpful. The cottage is cozy and has all the necessary amenities. There’s a hammock and a fire pit right outside your door. The hosts were incredibly helpful, responsive, and quick to fix any issue we had. 10/10 would highly recommend this place for short stays or long ones like ours.”

“I had the pleasure of staying for a week while attending clinicals, and I found the home to be wonderfully cozy, providing a sense of safety and comfort. The serene environment allowed me to unwind after long days of work. This location serves as an ideal base for exploring both downtown Chicago and Grand Rapids, Michigan. One suggestion for improvement would be to consider adding a plug-in air freshener to enhance the overall ambiance”

“Sister Lake Cottage #1 could not have worked out better for us (2). Would be a "tight squeeze" to have a party of six staying here. But, location, amenities, and other, were first-rate. Real easy to visit local restaurants right down the street, and evening ice cream watching the sunset. Super close to the wedding venue, and local church... And Dowagiac is just 15 minutes down the road for some bonus shopping and "eats". The place was very tidy, cozy, and well appointed. Used the private patio and fire-pit. Even got some fishing in. Easy to recommend!”

“We rented this cottage and another for a family wedding and this place was close to everything. It’s walking distance to coffee, breakfast, the beach and local nightlife. Good things- communal fire pit and private one for this cottage; Comfy king bed; water pressure; basic kitchen needs; crockpot; charcoal grills. There was plenty of room outside so we set up a blackstone to make breakfast to deliver to the wedding party . Other notes- The bathroom is inside the bedroom; more hooks and storage for personal belongings. Would be nice; There was an old dresser in the bedroom where shelves would be more practical. There was no shelf in the shower to put toiletries. The floor is painted concrete so I would recommend slippers or house shoes. There was no outlet in the loft for charging devices and the light didn’t work. The good points and location far out weigh what was lacking and justify a higher rating. I would definitely rent again and especially from this host. Thank you!”

“Wow. What a cute and cozy place for an extended weekend. Host (Sage), was extremely responsive. Cottage was clean, tidy… loved it. The only thing I would recommend is to put curtains on the bedroom window. It was very bright early in the morning when the sun came up. Also. perhaps a shelf on the shower wall so that you don’t have to lean down to get your toiletries off the shower floor.”

“Check in was easy and the cabin was nice. It had the necessities for cooking and relaxing. It could us some blinds over the door window. The location was great for kayaking and sight seeing. A few restaurants are within walking distance and Lake Michigan is a short drive. We would stay here again but I’m not sure where I’d park our boat if we brought it.”
