“We grabbed this cabin bec it was at the halfway mark from us coming back from a trip to the beach. We were just looking for something small and out of the way so that we could just rest up before the rest of the drive. The birds nest ended up being just what we were looking for. It was peaceful, quiet, and just what we needed. I will warn future guest though…it is NOT a stand alone cabin. It is connected to another bigger cabin but, The Bird”s Nest has its own private entrance on the side. This is disclosed in the description, however I could see many people overlooking it simply bec it says entire cabin.”

“The cabin is in a wonderful setting, with a babbling brook nearby, and woods all around and a hiking path nearby. No road noise, and the cabin area was much cooler than the surrounding region. Inside the large bed was very comfortable and the Jacuzzi tub felt great after a nice hilly 25-mile bike ride. Be aware that the fridge gets very cold, and some items on the door froze due to air flow from the top cold plate flowing down inside the front of the fridge. The hosts were helpful and responsive for after hour late arrival.”

“Positive: The location is great. Close to Saluda & nearby hiking. The cabin is very nice inside, comfortable couch, cozy padded porch swing, good strong shower. We didn't really have any communication with the host except the emails with the codes and checkout info, but that's all we needed. The electric fireplace is great, heats up the room very quickly. Negative: On the very lowest setting, the refrigerator froze everything, so we had exploded soda cans & foods that were ruined, like salad & half-and-half. The bottles on the shower caddy are not reachable if you're not tall. There was nowhere to eat in the cabin. A couple of TV trays would have been nice for when we had our breakfast & lunch. We didn't want to go out for every meal. A picnic table would be a welcome addition so we could enjoy sitting & eating outdoors. The hot and cold water are backwards at the sink. The pillows are a bit flat. A second set would have made sleeping much more comfortable. Also, I would say to recommend folks bring paper plates with them; washing all the dishes in the tiny bathroom sink was a pain. The k-cup coffee maker was a nice addition, but i would like to have known about it so I could bring my own k-cups. I brought coffee because it said there was coffeemaker, but I have to drink decaf, and there weren't any decaf cups & no way to make one. These thingsare not deal-breakers, but they would have made the stay much more pleasant.”

“I needed a solo trip and this place gave me everything I could need in a vacation. The area is so cute and I felt safe the whole time. Conveniently located minutes from Saluda and Hendersonville, and less than an hour drive from Asheville and black Mountain. My trip was packed with zip lining, hiking trails, and reading books on the lit and heated porch. A great place to slow down and relax. Would definitely stay again.”

Super convenient to the interstate and downtown Saluda both, easy to find, gorgeous property, adorable little "cabin", was waaayyyy better than hotel rooms I have paid much more for!! Sage was in contact with me the entire time, & was super friendly and professional. “Super cute cabin. It is attached to a larger office, so it took a quick second to find but they had a map. Very easy to get to but we could hear cars. There was a crowd at a campfire right behind the cabin but we could not hear them from inside. Very clean. Cute lights that turn on outside.. Great porch.”

“We recently had a two-night stay in the Bird’s Nest cabin. It was a smaller space, but it fit our needs perfectly. The area felt secluded even with other rentals on the property. The cabin was clean, stocked, and well-maintained. The host is incredibly responsive which had us feeling comfortable and confident during our stay. The wi-fi did seem a little spotty, but it wasn’t a big deal. Definitely a 5 out of 5 stay!”

You’re very close to restaurants in town and in the middle of beautiful nature and scenery. Our host made sure we were satisfied the entire time! Can’t wait to come back!”

“This was a nice little weekend get away with my fiancée. It was close enough to some local restaurants, but still felt far away enough to feel like we could relax. The only I can say that I didn’t love was the smell of I guess sitting water? That the jets in the bathtub put out. We didn’t use it anyway, so it wasn’t a big deal. The weather was really nice and cool for the weekend, so it didn’t get too warm, but you can tell the ac unit would have a harder time in the summer months. When it did get a little too warm in the space, it was nice to crack the down open and listen to the surroundings blow in the wind. The closed in porch and vineyard style lights were a very nice addition to the cabin feel. The place itself was easy to find and easy to get into. That bed was more comfortable than my own. Overall, it was great and would recommend this to anyone in NC just looking for a little bit of out of city life without having to get to Asheville but close enough to check it out”

“Lovely little spot! Great stay for a couple or a solo getaway. Loved the little touches to make everything feel at home - from the twinkling fairy lights, to the cozy bed and fireplace, this was a PERFECT spot to come back to after a long work trip! it is attached to a larger cabin, but there were no guests there during my stay. Regardless, it was a private and serene stay!”
