Welcome to Black Diamond at Mentone!

Mentone Mountain Escape is a private tiny home community located atop Lookout Mountain. Flowing nearby is the East Fork of the Little River which leads to the gentle, beautiful Lake Lahusage. This beautiful and serene location provides you and your family the opportunity for a unique vacation with adventure, beautiful sightseeing, privacy, and a space to reconnect! Mentone is perfect for nature lovers and hikers, our home is located within minutes of all your outdoor adventures and sightseeing! The Mentone tiny home has internet, sleeps 6 comfortably and the main floor contains the master bedroom and 2 twin bunk beds custom built into the space. In the loft, you'll find another queen bed with ample space for moving around. Great living room space allows the whole family to spend time together and play a late-night board game or watch a movie.

Please Note:

The guest count you provide must be accurate as there can be additional guest fees. Notify us if you need to adjust the guest count before arrival. A fine of $25 per night will be applied for each undeclared guest.

Reminder: If a guest misses the checkout time, additional fees will be added. If more than 2 hours past checkout, we will charge for an additional day.

Please bring your own charcoal & fire starter if you would like to use the grill during your stay.

The home was beautiful for the most part, some cosmetic defects but it didn’t ruin our stay! It’s a nice place to just escape from the outside world!

This was the perfect little getaway. It is close enough to everything we were looking for but far enough away to feel peaceful and relaxing. A comfy bed, 2 heat pumps that kept us nice and warm when it got down to 26, a well stocked kitchen, and the gas grill made this stay pretty close to perfect. We would definitely stay again!

10 out of 10 would recommend this tiny home. It is beautiful and just as listed. The host is awesome and very responsive. Couldn’t have asked for a better snow day stay!

This unit was not clean. We vacuumed, cleaned the vents to the air unit, had to clean debris out of the washer and dryer before we could wash the unclean sheets. Dryer knob was loose and would not turn the dial. Went down to local hardware store to get pliers to use dryer.

My stay at Black Diamond was fantastic. The time home was excellent, well furnished, and very comfortable inside. The neighborhood was walkable and serene. The best part was the host. She was always available to answer questions and address concerns. I’ll definitely be back.

This tiny cabin was perfect for our little short stay. The setup was fantastic. Loved sitting outside and enjoying the area. Watched a deer walk by our driveway and into the woods next to us. It was so quiet and peaceful. Will definitely stay here again.

My wife and I were looking for a two night stay as we headed home from a retreat in Gatlinburg. I searched for Airbnbs in the Fort Payne area and came across the Black Diamond in Mentone, AL. The accommodations were just as described. The tiny house neighborhood was so peaceful. I can’t say enough about our host, Sage, and how responsive and helpful she was with any questions we had. If we ever find ourselves in the Mentone, AL area again, we will definitely be staying at Black Diamond. It was so cozy and welcoming.

I am disappointed in my stay. The sink was full to the top with dirty dishes when I arrived. No clean towels. The dirty towels were still sitting in the washer from when the previous guests checked out. I arrived late at night expecting a clean bed to crawl into. Instead, I had to stay up to wash and dry sheets and towels. I complained to the management with photos when I arrived. The next day they only thanked me for alerting them. I didn’t expect them to respond immediately, that’s fine. I just wanted to immediately document that this was not my mess. They did not offer anything to make it right, even when I prompted them to do so. In my mind, I paid for a clean space. I definitely did not get what I paid for. Which is sad, because the property is otherwise cute and peaceful. I’m sure these are nice people, but in my mind they did not fulfill their obligation to me or try to make it right. I recommend looking elsewhere.
