“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fern Cottage. The home was located in the woods, close to so many areas to explore. Only 15 minutes from Cloudland Canyon State Park. Less than 45 minutes from Chattanooga with their top 10 aquarium and famous Rock city. Less than an hour from DeSoto State Park and the beautiful scenic spots along the canyon drive. We saw many wild deer out and about so be careful when you drive. The place was just what we needed to unwind. We would definitely recommend this location to anyone who enjoys nature and the outdoors.”

Me and my significant other traveled up for a short getaway, and to celebrate my great grandfather’s 100th birthday! 🎉 The drive up was beautiful, and the stay was even better. This cozy cabin had everything we needed and MORE. From the moment we arrived, we felt safe, welcomed, and right at home. There were a few small spiders, but they never bothered us or caused any issues. Plus, small critters are to be expected in locations like these! Hosts were amazing with communication and helpful when we needed them! We will most certainly be back here in the future!”

We went to Cloudland Canyon to visit the waterfall, we made it to the seasonal Lavender Farm to pick fresh lavender, and we even took a small day trip less than an hour away to Chattanooga to enjoy the city a little. “Our little family loved our stay at Fern Cottage! We haven’t had a trip in two years. Their Dad left us July of 24’ so when I had a little extra money during their spring break I wanted to take them on a staycation that felt like a whole new life for us. That is exactly what we got. The tiny house felt like a luxury getaway in the most peaceful, beautiful area. There are plenty of areas for guests to sleep and the layout of the house gives everyone their own space. Fern Cottage has a lovely rustic fire pit. We mostly hung out, relaxed, and played, but we also enjoyed the town of Mentone and DeSoto Falls during our stay which were both 30 minutes away. Mentone is a cute little town with a market filled with great souvenirs, handmades by the locals, and a variety of food and drink options including allergen friendly. DeSoto Falls has beautiful falls right off the car park which makes the trip a good fit for the elderly or children. If you desire a serene getaway, I highly recommend!!”

“We last minute booked for a quick place to rest for the night on our drive back to Wisconsin, and it is a beautiful spot. Clean and the hosts were lovely.”

“This is a beautiful cabin in a lovely remote setting. The cabin itself is well thought out to maximize the utility of the available space. Whilst it’s not large it fit our family of 2 Adults and 2 kids well. Access to the loft involves climbing a ladder so is not suitable for younger children or people with mobility issues. The environment is lovely with the cabin set into a block of trees. The fire pit is wonderful for family time. The property is a little hard to find the first time as google maps is a bit non specific however it gets you to the right street. Look out for house numbering on the road to find the right place. If approaching from Mentone be aware the road is dirt and corrugated for a few miles (very pretty view though). There are not a lot of restaurants or shops in the immediate area. Closest supermarket was 30 mins away in Trenton (Food City is good). Plan accordingly. Communication from the owners were prompt and clear. All in all a great property.”

“We loved our stay in this tiny cabin in Menlo! We found that it was closer to travel to Trenton GA if we needed to run to town for anything. There are several restaurants and grocery stores in Trenton and we did travel into Mentone one day to the Mentone Market for a WONDERFUL pizza one day. It’s definitely secluded but that is exactly what we were looking for this little getaway, we just wanted to breathe for a minute. Top notch communication, top notch property. We can’t wait to come back with our boys.”
