“Positive: Very clean, beautiful loft. It had everything we needed. The bed was firm but not hard. Washer and dryer unit is a very nice addition. Excellent breakfast cafe, pub and restaurants were a short walk away. Negative: It would be helpful to include that the building has no elevator and that loft 4 is up 3 flights of stairs.. We are 70 yrs old and carrying a 35 lb suitcase up stairs was hard.”

“My husband and I took a last minute trip to Benton Harbor and stayed in Ken’s loft. Love the art district!!! Ken’s place was immaculate, had all the necessary amenities of home. Definitely recommend anyone who’s looking for a trendy place to stay. Ken was so helpful when we needed some dining suggestions on a Sunday evening. We had appetizers and drinks at North Pier Brewing and met some wonderful people there! I will definitely stay in Ken’s loft again!”

“Very nice place. Easy walk to the Mason Jar Cafe and the Livery micro-brewery for live music and amazing beers. And the Houndstooth restaurant is right there, also. A sort bike ride to the beach, the loft was comfortable and right at home. I will return for sure!”

“Had a great time this weekend. Benton Harbor was alright, mainly just quiet never felt unsafe at anytime. The gated parking lot was very nice. The place itself was very nice and perfect for a weekend getaway. Ate at Houndstooth and Cliffords Coffee Canal in Benton Harbor and those were great. Spent most of our days at silver beach and downtown St. Joe.”

St Joseph has lots of shops, restaurants, and beaches. South Haven only about 20-30 min North with similar amenities. New Buffalo is about 30 minutes south with similar amenities. Lots to do and we never got bored. Would definitely stay here again!”

“Kenneth’s place was appointed very well. It had everything we needed and was one of the cleanest Airbnb stays we’ve had. The furniture, layout and design touches were awesome. There was an attention to detail with kitchen tidiness, bathroom organization and all new furniture. It was easy drive to St. Joseph and the building was secure. The general area around is under modernization so there are more trendy places to eat including at the ground level of the building. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely return.”

“My daughter and I stayed here for a girls get away and loved having a safe place to stay in. The bed linens were so luxurious and the bed was super comfy. We took advantage of the gas stove and cooked a few meals. I loved that the kitchen was stocked. The farmers market across the street was perfect to gather a few things to enjoy during our stay. The Mason Jar Cafe is amazing for breakfast and within walking distance. It was a great place to stay and we would definitely come back.”

“The Loft is exactly as described and is cozy, stylish, and comfortable. The Mason Jar Cafe was delicious. We ate there twice, and when we ordered a pizza from The Livery, we were pleasantly surprised to discover an open mike where my husband was invited to perform. The surrounding area, though, is pretty bleak. Despite the new restaurants, it's not a pretty neighborhood. Some parts were quite shocking, worse even than the south side of Chicago. The streets were deserted, there are few trees and no landscaping, the view from the apartment is mostly a parking lot, port-a-potties, a cannabis dispensary, and a handful of men loitering in the grass, most with suitcases. It goes a bit beyond urban grit, and--perhaps a positive--spurred a lot of discussion about Whirlpool, segregation, and gentrification. So it was a stimulating visit, just not the way we imagined! Hoping the revitalization is successful for BH.”

It's an old building with high ceilings and exposed ductwork, so there is some noise from the heating system at night. Light sleepers might want to bring earplugs.”

We were never bothered though and never felt unsafe in the building which is locked. We stayed in loft #4 and it looked just like the photos. We liked the decor, and the high end feel of it. We didn't use the kitchen for cooking as we were here for a short time, but it was fully stocked with everything you would need. As mentioned in the description, the air duct above the bed is loud but it actually didn't bother us much. I wish there were black out blinds though as the light in the alley was a little bright in the bedroom at night. The location is a great base for exploring the surrounding towns.”
