“The building, loft and the host were great. We enjoyed the space. Convenient parking too. Good places to eat are walkable. More places to eat, shopping, and beaches are close by and driveable. The Houndstooth restaurant downstairs is excellent. The immediate area is recovering from urban decay so it's a hodge podge of remodeled historic buildings put to new use and empty dilapidated structures and spaces waiting for someone with an idea, money and/or construction skills to bring them back to life. I would stay there again.”

“The loft was a very short distance to the beach and walkable to fun restaurants and shops. The loft was very clean and exactly as described, with lots of local recommendations. We ate at Houndstooth downstairs and it was our favorite dining experience this year! It was very fun area, we will definitely be back!”

“Our stay at the Historic Arts District Gastro Loft was excellent.The room was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable pleasurable week stay.The parking in the back was safe and free.The Mason Jar restaurant near by was a game changer as well as the juice bar on the corner.By car all the areas like St Joseph Silver Beach, Benton Harbor Fairplain plaza and even Emmas Pizza in Bridgman was easy to get to.Overall we would recommend the Historic District Loft, area and city (Benton Harbor/St Joseph) to anyone…Wali & Lissette”

“Positive: Drove 5 mins to breakfast at the Mason Jar. Wonderful food!!! Negative: No instructions on how to get the key out of the box so that was an issue but the waiter at the restaurant next door came and helped us. Otherwise no other issues!”

“We had a great time staying at Ken’s place. Check in was easy and the place was nice and clean. One small note is the information about the gated parking is outdated and not available and you just have to park in the open lot which is totally fine but was just a little confusing. We definitely plan to come back in the future, thanks!”

“Kenneth's place was just as advertised. It was easy to find and conveniently located. The place was clean and full of personality. The HVAC can be a bit noisy over the bed when it turns on, however, I thought of it as white noise. He didn't have a key fob as mentioned online, but there was plenty of parking in the lot behind the place. Even before arriving, he provided plenty of recommendations for places to eat and places to go. Kenneth was friendly and responsive from start to finish.”

“What an amazing space! My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and had the best time! The Loft was Immaculate and had everything we needed. Sage was a phenomenal Hostess and made sure that all of our questions were answered long before we even arrived. The location is up and coming and has a lot of promise. We will definitely be back!”

“Positive: Very clean, beautiful loft. It had everything we needed. The bed was firm but not hard. Washer and dryer unit is a very nice addition. Excellent breakfast cafe, pub and restaurants were a short walk away. Negative: It would be helpful to include that the building has no elevator and that loft 4 is up 3 flights of stairs.. We are 70 yrs old and carrying a 35 lb suitcase up stairs was hard.”

“My husband and I took a last minute trip to Benton Harbor and stayed in Ken’s loft. Love the art district!!! Ken’s place was immaculate, had all the necessary amenities of home. Definitely recommend anyone who’s looking for a trendy place to stay. Ken was so helpful when we needed some dining suggestions on a Sunday evening. We had appetizers and drinks at North Pier Brewing and met some wonderful people there! I will definitely stay in Ken’s loft again!”

“Very nice place. Easy walk to the Mason Jar Cafe and the Livery micro-brewery for live music and amazing beers. And the Houndstooth restaurant is right there, also. A sort bike ride to the beach, the loft was comfortable and right at home. I will return for sure!”

“The Gastro loft is a super modern space that has lots of natural light and all the amenities needed to make for an at home feel. Located close to many local attractions and beach access. The host/manger was extremely helpful and knowledgeable with questions. Highly recommend this space for a weekend getaway! Definitely will be a return future guest. ”

“Had a great time this weekend. Benton Harbor was alright, mainly just quiet never felt unsafe at anytime. The gated parking lot was very nice. The place itself was very nice and perfect for a weekend getaway. Ate at Houndstooth and Cliffords Coffee Canal in Benton Harbor and those were great. Spent most of our days at silver beach and downtown St. Joe.”

“The place is beautiful just like the pictures. The owner constantly stays in touch to make sure everything is perfect. There is lots of things to do around this area. St Joseph has lots of shops, restaurants, and beaches. South Haven only about 20-30 min North with similar amenities. New Buffalo is about 30 minutes south with similar amenities. Lots to do and we never got bored. Would definitely stay here again!”

“Enjoyed the location. Right above the Houndstooth Restaurant, which knocks out excellent upscale food. We dined there one evening and returned the next night for dessert and cocktail (The same dessert we had the night before - It was so good and traditional, I'm not a dessert guy ) Close walk to the The Brick House and The Livery Brewpub. Easy drive to St. Joseph and the beach area. Multiple well maintained public golf courses within a short drive and wineries. The area does border on a somewhat "blighted" neighborhood between l-94 and the property, but I felt safe. When/if I return to the area I would definitely return to this property. Perfect for a getaway for 2.”
