“Our stay at The Loft in Benton Harbor was outstanding and easily a 5 star experience. The space was extremely clean, beautifully designed, and you can tell Ken was very intentional about every detail down to the huge walk in shower. One of the best parts of staying here was having Houndstooth right downstairs. After our first night dining there, we made reservations for the very next evening before our entrées even arrived. If you go, do yourself a favor and sit at the end of the counter where you can watch the chef and sous chef prepare the meals. They were incredibly welcoming, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with throughout the evening. The entire wait staff made us feel appreciated and taken care of both nights we dined there. Every single dish was exceptional. We had breakfast at the Mason Jar twice and it was amazing. If you are staying in the Benton Harbor/St. Joseph area, The Loft is an absolute must. Amazing place to stay with excellent food nearby.”

“Kenneth’s place was beautiful, spotless, and had every amenity I could have wanted. His directions to access the space were clear. About a 45 minute drive to Saugatuck which I happily made several times, plus loved Saint Joseph which is right near the Airbnb. Great coffee shops nearby and Houndstooth under the loft was delicious. Loved having this space as a comfy return each night after adventuring.”

“Ken’s loft was clean and cozy! We were somewhat skeptical of the location because of the area, but we never felt unsafe because of the private parking lot and security of the building. Only a 5-6 minute drive from St. Joe and Silver Beach. Ken was extremely responsive and friendly! Would stay again.”

“Very cool place. Very comfortable and very unique. The shower was large and living area very functional. The exposed brick & air ducts made it really cool and a great vibe. The place itself had a cool record player and the decorations were very unique and fun. The host was very nice and had great instructions. Overall the place was great. The area was a little interesting but very much standard of the city. The building and place itself were exactly what we were looking for. Would like to have been able to use the shared balcony but was too cold. Had a shared washer and dryer available as well.”

“The Loft was a perfect place to stay during my work trip! The having its own private parking lot was really beneficial and location in Benton Harbor was great too. The loft itself was perfectly laid out with a nice size kitchen area/living room as soon as you walk in. The bathroom was awesome too and had all the amenities you need. And the bedroom was good as well with extra sheets if need be for those cold nights. Having access to a washer and drier was really nice to have especially since I was working. The restaurant downstairs serves unique, tasty food! I recommend stopping down there at some point for a bite to eat.”

“Cool and well appointed loft! Close to St. Josephs beaches and lighthouse, and downtown. Easy access and good parking. We weren't bothered by the Houndstooth restaurant below, but you knew it was there. The Brick House restaurant is also nearby. We experienced their food truck earlier this year which was fantastic! Also, it is a loft, there are 25 stairs to the second floor. That was the only real drawback. I would return to Kenneth's place!”

“Nice bungalow with easy access to the lake, restaurants and shopping. It’s in an area that’s still somewhat a work in progress, but the amenities are excellent and worth the stay. The history of the area and building is interesting. The host is helpful and having private parking is a nice added bonus. Bring your vinyl and enjoy the sounds on the turntable provided. Relaxing.”

“Came to town for work and it felt like I was transported to an alternate universe, my wife and kids were home and I got to enjoy this very clean luxurious space all to myself. It was quiet, clean, the shower was a whole treat in itself, and everyone I encountered in the area was polite. I will definitely be booking this again should I need to work in the area.”
